Ken on the Mokume Gane:
"There are 3 pieces of Mokume Gane on this instrument, and it's a new feature set for me.
Let's call it a Mokume Gane Grouppo, and mix the metaphors!
On Inner Peace, the specifics are these:
1) tuning peg cover - copper and sterling
2) soundhole strip - copper and sterling
3) tailpiece - copper, shakudo and shibuichi, which are silver and gold alloyed with copper
The first two pieces are very thin, about .020", or 1/2mm.
These parts are all made by me, that is, I developed the unique patterns in the multilayered
material, by cutting and forging. No two pieces could ever be the same."
16.5" across the lower bout
2.5" thick at the end block, 2.25" thick at the neck block
